Todd Howard, the director of Bethesda, originally did not want Troy Baker to be the voice of Indiana Jones in the new MachinesGames title: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. According to Baker himself in an interview with the BBC, Howard hesitated because the actor “is in all the games.”

After getting the role, Baker admitted that he had many doubts in the early days of recording, even fearing that he would be fired. Fortunately, shortly after, he received an unexpected email from Howard saying: “You’re doing an amazing job.” Words that, according to Baker, gave him the boost he needed to continue doing his job with full confidence.
In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Baker faced the great challenge of portraying an iconic character loved by generations. But the actor, with several decades of acting experience and a vocal ability that previously allowed him to mimic Mark Hamill’s Joker in the Arkham games, was able to capture the essence of the legendary Harrison Ford perfectly. “If by the end of the game you feel like you were Indiana Jones, I will have done my job well,” Baker stated, making clear the respect he feels for the character and its fans.
In the end, the effort of Baker and the Bethesda team seems to have paid off. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been received with enthusiasm by both fans and critics, many of whom point out its great resemblance to Dishonored and MachineGames’ own Wolfenstein, two Bethesda licenses that enjoy great prestige among players. Now, the only question is: why has such a great title been barely advertised?
