Mintrocket, the creators of Dave the Diver, have announced what their next video game will be. Stepping away from their most well-known creation, they will take the reins of the upcoming adaptation of one of the most iconic characters in Japanese pop culture. They are going to make the next video game adaptation of Godzilla in a mobile game that they have presented with a very eye-catching trailer.
Named Godzilla Defense Force: X, it is a strategy and management game that aims to cover the seventy-two years of Godzilla’s history in a very particular way. And the thing is, unlike all the games in the franchise so far, we will not control the monsters. We will control the Earth Defense Force that fights against the monsters and seeks to defend itself from them in different cities around the world in different historical periods.
A man obsessed with Godzilla
This is not the first approach that Mintrocket has had to Japan’s favorite saurian. Dave the Diver already had a DLC entirely dedicated to Godzilla, all because Jaeho Hwang, the company’s CEO, is a big fan of Godzilla, which is why they are tackling this particular project. Although it does not yet have a release date, they have stated that they will provide more details about it very soon.
Meanwhile, they are also working on a spinoff of Dave the Diver based on one of its secondary characters, Bancho. It seems that at Mintrocket they are not resting on their laurels, but are keeping very busy. So, if you liked Dave the Diver, it looks like you will have more games from its creators in the near future. Especially if you enjoy that irreverent tone they have. And the giant dinosaurs with atomic breath.
