Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao… The song from 1943 was an anthem among the Italian partisans, who fought against the Nazi German forces and for seven decades it was an antifascist anthem. Until 2017 when La Casa de Papel arrived and forever changed its meaning: instead of fighting against fascists, it would now be the official song of the Professor, the Dalís, and the greatest heist ever told. And of course, it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon.
Are you ready, Professor?
After nine years, anyone could believe that Netflix was wrapping up Money Heist after the monumental success of its series and its spin-off, Berlin. However, at its presentation in Seville, the streamer had a little surprise up its sleeve: the story will continue in ways we can’t even understand yet.
As the trailer says, first came the money. Then came the gold. But the revolution is not over. “The next step has already been taken”, they announced, hinting that the next project from Alex Pina and his team is on the way. In fact, they posted an image on Instagram showing the Professor again, and since he survived the last episode of the series, it is most likely that he will be up to his usual tricks again.
No one knows if this means a new sequel, a spin-off, or just an extra episode, but for now we will stay tuned, because when Netflix sinks its fangs into something, it usually doesn’t let go, no matter how much it disguises capitalism as revolution.
