The director of 'Zootopia 2' wrote the pilot episode of the best 'Star Wars' series, but no one knew it

Jared Bush, director of Zootopia and current head of animation at Disney, has confirmed that he wrote the original pilot for the Star Wars series Andor before choosing to direct the successful musical Encanto. In a recent conversation on the podcast The Town with Matthew Belloni, Bush clarified that he was never fired from Andor; instead, he chose to focus on Encanto, which allowed him to bring that story to the big screen.

Andor, finally directed by Tony Gilroy, has become one of the most critically acclaimed projects within the Star Wars universe, especially highlighting its second season. Bush mentioned that, although Andor is not what he would have done, he appreciates the narrator’s perspective and Gilroy’s work, especially for his contribution to the film Rogue One. “I met with Kathleen Kennedy (president of Lucasfilm) last week and my family wanted to watch both seasons of Andor. It’s phenomenal”, Bush expressed, emphasizing his admiration for the work done on the series.

As for the future of the Star Wars universe, attention now turns to The Mandalorian, which will return to screens on May 22, continuing the story of Din Djarin and Grogu, beloved characters among fans.
