Just a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to see quite a bit of gameplay from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the highly anticipated video game where the adventurer will be the main protagonist. As it is well known, the game is being developed by Bethesda (Machine Games), so it is an Xbox exclusive… for now.
According to Tom Warren’s report in The Verge, the exclusivity of Indy on Xbox could last only a few months. The popular journalist, who has already gained credibility through his numerous news articles, has reported that this Indiana Jones game is part of the wave of multi-platform titles that Xbox is preparing. Therefore, it’s only a matter of time before it’s released on PlayStation 5 (or a successor to the Nintendo Switch) “a few months later,” according to his source.
At this time, we still don’t have a release date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. All we know is that it will arrive sometime in 2024, which only has four months left. Rumors suggest the release date will be in early December, but fortunately for us, we only have to wait a few hours to find out.
Tonight, during the opening ceremony of Gamescom, the game will have a special spot where it is expected to reveal its final release date.
It is worth noting that this Microsoft strategy is well known by everyone. During this year, for example, we have had the opportunity to see Hi-Fi Rush on PlayStation or Switch (before it sold the IP and closed the studio), Sea of Thieves, or Pentiment, among others. Likewise, there are rumors that Starfield would also be just around the corner on PS5, right when its next expansion is released.
