It’s a sobering thought when you realize the power of Facebook in the world of social media.

Both Facebook and Messenger are incredibly powerful by themselves. But, let’s not forget the company also acquired Instagram back in 2012, and WhatsApp in 2014, for a combined sum just short of $20 billion (you probably heard that they’re not short of cash).

A recent article on website Übergizmo recently explored the number of active users the company are currently boasting, and the results are, quite frankly shocking.

Last year, Facebook released statistics indicating they had 1.49 billion active users each month, (users using Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram).  Just a year later, the company has seen a growth of 100 million active users, which now gives the company a staggering 1.59 billion monthly active users – the equivalent of almost a quarter of the world’s population.

Übergizmo was also kind enough to provide an inforgraphic showcasing the company’s impressive statistics:

Yes, the numbers are mind-blowing, but when you can barely think of a person who doesn’t use any of the four, you’re not really surprised Mr Zuckerberg is currently the sixth richest person in the world.
