The science fiction series on Apple TV+ that will make you reflect on the future

Every day it becomes clearer that Apple TV+ is the home of science fiction. Fans of the best series in the genre are increasingly delighted with the streaming platform, and despite its much wider catalog, there is no doubt that many are subscribed to the VOD service thanks to fictions like Foundation, Constellation, Silo or Invasion.

Among all of them, however, there is one series that stands out above the rest in terms of production design and stars. Its name is A Challenging Future (Extrapolations), and it is an audiovisual work that delves into the territory of speculative fiction to explore the consequences of climate change in the near future.

The structure is also particular: through eight interconnected episodes, the series addresses various stories that explore how climate change impacts fundamental aspects of human life, from love and family to work and faith.

From floods caused by melting polar ice to devastating forest fires, the series uses convincing visual effects to recreate apocalyptic scenarios that reflect the alarming predictions of the scientific community about the future of the planet.

It is clear that Apple TV+, however, has been crowned with A Challenging Future. It is an ambitious series that offers a unique vision of the impact of human beings on planet Earth, without overlooking all kinds of future alternatives that will gradually come to us. I would watch it before it expires because, as it seems, everything that happens in fiction will arrive in the real world sooner than expected.
