The Sinking City 2 gets an August 18, 2026 release date: Premium Edition adds Holloway Manor quest

The Sinking City 2 now has a release date. Frogwares’ sequel, which pushes much further into action-heavy survival horror than the first The Sinking City, is set to launch on August 18, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Along with that date, the studio also shared edition details, pre-order bonuses, and a clearer picture of what this sequel is doing differently.

The Standard Edition will cost $49.99. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $54.99, while the Premium Edition comes in at $59.99. If you go for Premium, you’ll get the roughly two-hour Holloway Manor side quest, the Bucking Bronco revolver for the main campaign, and 24 hours of early access. Every pre-order, no matter which edition you choose, also includes the Chthonic Arsenal pack with three unique weapons.

The biggest shift is in the game itself. The Sinking City 2 steps away from the first game’s detective-adventure structure and leans much harder on combat , resource management, and exploration. Investigation is still part of it, but it’s optional this time. It also tells a standalone story set in the 1920s, with players taking on the role of occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty as he tries to save his partner, Faye, in a flooded Arkham.

If you’ve been hoping Frogwares would take its Lovecraft universe deeper into straight-up survival horror, this looks like a solid reason to pay attention. There’s also the wider context around it: Frogwares is building the game in Unreal Engine 5 while working under wartime conditions, and it has leaned on Kickstarter as a financial safety net.

The Sinking City 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
