The spin-off of 'Yellowstone' that fans have been dreaming of for a while

The Yellowstone universe continues to expand with the announcement of Y: Marshals, a direct sequel set to premiere on March 1, 2026. This new series, produced by CBS, promises to take viewers in a new direction by focusing on a more law enforcement aspect, slightly moving away from the western tone that marked the original series. The story will follow Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes, who will join an elite unit of US Marshals in Montana to bring justice to the deserts of the region.

A Yellow Western

The return of some familiar faces is one of the highlights of the cast. Gil Birmingham returns as Thomas Rainwater, Mo Brings Plenty will reprise his role as Mo, and Brecken Merrill will once again be in the role of Tate, the son of Kayce and Monica. However, the participation of Kelsey Asbille, who played Monica, has not yet been confirmed, leaving the door open for speculation about her possible return.

The main cast will also include Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin, a friend of Kayce from his military days. Additionally, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means will portray the marshals Belle, Andrea, and Miles, respectively. Meanwhile, Brett Cullen will be the head of the US Marshals in Montana, Harry Gifford, thus completing a promising cast.

The production doesn’t stop here, as another series centered on the characters of Beth, played by Kelly Reilly, and Rip, played by Cole Hauser, is being developed, further expanding the legacy of the Dutton saga. With Y: Marshals, fans of the family and crime drama will be able to experience new adventures in a landscape that has captured the audience’s imagination since the debut of Yellowstone.
