These Apple Intelligence features won’t be available at launch
Languages, Siri, Mail and more will require patience

This fall, the arrival of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and iPadOS 18 promises to revolutionize our interaction with Apple devices, thanks to the incorporation of Apple Intelligence. However, some of the features will arrive in beta form, and some features simply won’t arrive until later. Let’s go over the complete list.
Four delayed functions
One of the most significant shortcomings in the initial launch of Apple Intelligence is its exclusive availability for devices configured in American English. Of course, we’ll be able to configure our devices in English to access the features, but the capabilities of text summarization, rewriting, and similar functions will make much less sense.
There’s no confirmed date for the arrival of other languages, and the fact that the arrival of the feature itself is labeled as beta in the United States does not portend a short wait, but what’s clear is that Apple is interested in deploying Apple Intelligence as soon as possible and for the widest possible audience. Most likely, with iOS 18.1 or iOS 18.2, support for more languages will arrive.
Siri will also receive major updates along with these updates. However, although the new Siri will be available this fall with a selection of new skills, some app actions require more development time and won’t be ready until later. These actions would allow Siri to interact with applications almost autonomously, performing tasks that currently require our intervention. There is no date for the arrival of this feature.
There is also no capability for Siri to be aware of the content on our screens. This would allow Siri to process and respond to context-based commands. Something we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for.
Finally, Apple Mail will also benefit from artificial intelligence with new features such as automatic message categorization and summaries. Very interesting tools to manage our inbox that, again, aren’t expected until iOS 18.1 or 18.2. So, we shouldn’t be able to see these innovations until the end of this year or the beginning of 2025.
It’s clear that the large number of new features planned for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and the rest of the operating systems is going to require more time for development. So much so that, as we’ve seen on other occasions, some of the functions will arrive later. Meanwhile, we can always install the iOS 18 beta for free and try out the new features before anyone else, but for some features, we will have to wait. Though the wait will be well worth it.
