Halk Hogan, a prominent Polish modder, has announced his return to work on a new version of his popular modification for The Witcher 3, known as HD Reworked Project NextGen Edition 2026. Almost a decade after its original release, the game remains one of the most beloved RPGs, not only by its creators at CD Projekt RED, but also thanks to the dedication of fans like Hogan, who seeks to take the visual aspect of the title featuring Geralt of Rivia to new heights.
A game with next-generation graphics
The HD Reworked Project was already considered one of the most ambitious graphical modifications created for the game, as it completely renewed the models, textures, and draw distance, transforming the vast open world into a visual experience worthy of the new generation. Hogan has specified that the new edition will include higher resolution textures, complete redesigns of animals and monsters, and a new rendering system that will provide more three-dimensional depth to the objects and surfaces in the environment. This will allow for a more natural and visually coherent representation, where details, from the stones in the walls to the scales of the creatures, will be appreciated with unprecedented quality.
The gaming community has remained active and enthusiastic, supporting and enjoying his work. The success and acceptance of the HD Reworked Project is partly due to Hogan’s ability to enhance the graphics without significantly affecting the game’s performance. Although the exact release date has not yet been defined, the new version is scheduled to arrive in 2026, and it is expected that the modder will provide more information about his progress in the coming months.
Those interested in exploring the current edition can download it from Nexus Mods, where the legacy of a single fan continues to keep one of the best video games of all time alive.
