TikTok has become the pinnacle of entertainment content. Although it started out as a social network based on music and dance, it has gradually opened up to many other types of content. From controversial beauty filters to gastronomy, there are hundreds of uses for the app by users.

Among all the original uses that have emerged in TikTok, the revival and cultural dissemination has become one of the keys of the platform. There are many who use TikTok to promote movies, series or cultural content of any kind to recommend. Also those who remind us of the devices and gadgets we left behind and retain in memory.

A mix of these two TikTok apps is Tara Town. Through her account @tara_town she uploads hundreds of nostalgic videos about the 90s. These contents range from the toys and culture of the era, to the traditional things that those of us who grew up in those days used to do, and the foods that were all the rage.

Who is the tiktoker Tara Town?

She defines herself as The 90’s Girl, and no wonder. She has a whopping 1.2 million followers on TikTok and more than 33 million plays in total. She has become a reference influencer for all millenials, and while there is a lot of nostalgia about the 80’s, the 90’s is something relatively new.

Tara Town’s most viral videos are the “90s Things” series. Neither short nor lazy, she has already released up to 223 parts of this series, in which she basically lists things from the 90s that can range from toys to clothing. In the last one she has released so far she talks, for example, about the TV channel on which to connect the console before HDMI existed.

In another video of this series he also talks about the tazos, in English pogs, which became popular in Spain in an unrepeatable way thanks to the series that was launched about Pokémon. We also had other sagas like Digimon or Baby Looney Tunes:

One of my favorite videos in this series is the one that vindicates Goofy and Son. The Disney movie that brought Mickey’s clumsy dog friend as the main character is one of the most beloved by fans of the time, and led to the later series The Goofy Troop. Undoubtedly, an underrated gem.

Why did we make all the devices of the time transparent? Whoever hasn’t had a transparent Game Boy in which all its circuits can be seen hasn’t had a childhood… at least according to Tara Town.

Beyond this endless series about the 90s, which also delves a bit into the early 2000s, the tiktoker has room for other videos on her channel. For example, she explains everything we didn’t remember about going to school or high school in those wonderful years:

And it has another series specializing in the girls of the era. How they dressed, what their tastes were and why they grew up the way they did are some of the keys that Tara Town explores in its related videos:

Undoubtedly, nostalgia for the nineties is hitting this generation hard. Good example of this is that the series Those Wonderful 70s is back in the form of a continuation on Netflix with That ’90s Show. This sitcom brings back Ashton Kutcher and part of the original cast, so it’s back to being a nostalgic element within something already nostalgic.
