Pixar has an incredible lineup of movies. Since the company’s launch in the mid-90s, it has delighted us with masterpieces such as Toy Story, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Coco, or Monsters, Inc. But there’s a feature film that, at its time, managed to surpass everything it had done before and was even classified as the studio’s best: Inside Out.

Released in 2015, the movie elevated Pixar to a remarkable level. But what not many expected was that, eight years later, a sequel to this film would be announced. Inside Out 2 is set to arrive next summer in 2024, and although the exact date is not confirmed yet, it’s expected to be a significant summer event. Below, you can watch the teaser trailer for the release:

New emotions arrive to change everything

Inside Out garnered a lot of attention for summarizing the human states into five emotions. However, all of this was during childhood, and the sequel faces another crucial moment in Riley’s life: adolescence. And, well, obviously, this brings along many more problems… and also new emotions.

In the teaser, we can already see an arrival that is going to change everything: Anxiety. This new emotion is, how to put it, untimely… and it turns Riley’s life upside down. But the worst part is that it doesn’t come alone. Along with adolescence, Envy, Boredom, and Shame also land. All of them will make the life of the human containing them much more chaotic than in her childhood.

Next summer, we’ll see how these new emotions interact with the ones we already knew so well. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and contend with them ourselves inside… which already seems like a significant mission.
