Disney will soon release the live-action version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the film that will adapt the classic story that propelled the studio to great popularity during the 20th century. However, it won’t be the only Snow White film we’ll be getting soon. Just recently, we received the trailer for a quite different adaptation of Snow White.

Snow White and the Evil Queen will be an adaptation of the original story but from a very different perspective. It is set to premiere in 2024 on Bentkey, The Daily Wire’s children’s entertainment streaming platform. This adaptation serves as a sort of response to the changes made in Disney’s new film since The Daily Wire is a right-leaning publication.

A different Snow White… or the same one?

“Even though Disney still uses Walt’s name, they have practically abandoned his legacy. It took 100 years to build Disney. We know we are not what they are today, but we hope that over time we can become what they used to be: a small studio with big ideas and the courage to pursue them.”

Jeremy Boreing, the director of this alternative Snow White, expresses his criticism with such intensity, aiming for a film that is much more “realistic?” than the original. Facing the cast is actress Brett Cooper, who sees this opportunity as something unique, capable of bringing the Disney spirit into reality:

I grew up with the original Grimm fairy tales, so I am thrilled that we are bringing this iconic story to life for the next generation. Snow White is a beautiful character, and it’s an honor for me to portray her. Like all the best fairy tales, this is a story with timeless values, such as love, friendship, and kindness, and I am eager to share them.”
