Twitter Blue is moving full steam ahead. Twitter‘s subscription service, created before Elon Musk took over the company at the end of 2022, launched this week in more than 20 new countries.

According to TechCrunch, the countries that will be able to enjoy the benefits of the paid service are: Holland, Poland, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, Romania, Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta and Cyprus.

This expansion brings the list of countries with access to Twitter Blue to more than 35. Before Elon Musk took full control of Twitter, the company already implemented a number of features for Twitter Blue, including the ability to edit tweets, 1080p video uploads, a reading mode, a saved items folder and a featured articles section.

At a price of 8 euros per month in Spain (7 euros paying for a full year), Twitter Blue grants, as a base, a blue check mark to users who always wanted to have one to feel important (a feature that Meta is also testing on Facebook and Instagram). With Musk at the helm, Twitter has wanted to boost the subscription service, and has launched a number of features in order to attract more audiences and find a source of fixed funding beyond advertising.

Among them, Twitter gives priority of response to Twitter Blue subscribers (appearing higher in the replies to tweets) and allows them to upload videos up to one hour long and with a maximum weight of 2 gb. A feature that, if well used, allows us to enjoy great movies like Shrek without leaving Twitter.

Also, since the beginning of February, Twitter has allowed Twitter Blue users to publish tweets of up to 4,000 characters. A very welcome feature for those users who spend their days on the social network and want to publish their “essays” in a single tweet.
