UC Browser is one of the most popular mobile browsers in the world, and has just announced it now has over 500 million users worldwide. Available on Android, iOS, Symbian, Java, Windows Phone and BlackBerry, it is particularly popular in China and India.
UC Browser’s user base is growing quickly, with 100 million new users since the start of the year. The browser offers a download manager, data compression for faster and lighter browsing over mobile networks, and a ‘view later’ mode that allows you to read, watch and listen to web pages offline.
According to StatCounter’s global browser statistics, UC Browser is now the fifth most popular mobile browser, trailing the Android browser, Safari, Opera and Chrome. Its growth is steady, but it is Chrome that looks like the fastest growing mobile browser. When you look at statistics for North America, UC Browser has less than 2% of mobile browser usage, which highlights how skewed its user base is towards China and India.
