UFO: A Day in the Life is out now on PS5 and Switch 2: first Western release in 27 years

Hamster Corporation has brought UFO: A Day in the Life to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 through its Console Archives label, finally giving the 1999 PlayStation oddity an official Western release 27 years after it first came out. If you’ve been curious about this hard-to-find Japanese cult game, this is the first straightforward way to play it on current hardware, and the added save states and rewind take some of the sting out of the original version.

You play a tiny alien whose UFO has crashed, then poke around an apartment building looking for 50 hidden aliens. The way you find them is the fun part: watch the residents, catch the moments when their behavior gets weird, and snap photos when something strange happens. That setup is already unusual, and the Love-de-Lic connection gives it extra weight. Love-de-Lic was the former Square team behind Moon: Remix RPG Adventure.
