Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller has announced that the upcoming iOS 7 update will fix the problem of surprise soft reboots, or ‘white screen of death’, that some users have experienced.

Since iOS 7 was released in 2013, some users have complained their iPhones occasionally reboot of their own accord. The screen will suddenly turn white or black, with the Apple logo in the center. This seems to occur most when an iPhone reaches 30% or less battery power.

This fix for the ‘White screen of death’ will come with the iOS 7.1 update, which is currently in its 4th beta, and being tested by developers. As we reported yesterday, the 7.1 update also blocks the exploit used by the latest evasi0n7 jailbreak, so users with jailbroken devices will have to wait to get the latest fixes from Apple if they want to stay jailbroken.
