If you vape because it’s safer than smoking, these videos may make you want to go cold turkey. They show e-cigarettes exploding in people’s bags, pockets, and even in their mouths, causing horrific, painful injuries.
A consumer blog has logged 243 media-reported incidents as of May last year – but warns that these may be the tip of the iceberg.
Accidents are often caused by overcharging, using chargers not specifically designed for your device, adding modifiers, and spare batteries coming into contact with metal, causing them to short-circuit.
The message: charge with care, avoid mods, and don’t have spare batteries jiggling around in your pants with your keys and loose change.
Or just give up nicotine, period.
