The popular calling and texting app Viber is in the final stages of development for Windows Phone 8, according to an interview with the company’s CEO on Trutower.com.

Viber has excellent cross platform support, with iOS, Android, Blackberry, Nokia and Bada versions. There is currently a Windows 7 version, but Windows 8 users have had to wait.

The Windows 8 version is close to finished. CEO Talmon Marco says, ‘We should have it real soon. We will be supporting all Windows Phone 8 devices.’ Viber for BlackBerry 10 is also in development.

That’s great news if you use Windows 8 Phone, but unfortunately Viber still ‘has nothing to announce’ regarding a version for PC. Viber for PC would undoubtedly be really popular, as it’s one of the most requested applications from our users.

We’ll have a full review of Viber for Windows Phone 8 as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, check out our Viber for Windows 7 review.
