Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector roadmap updated: new DLC and faction confirmed

Slitherine has updated the roadmap for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, and it pins down two future additions for the turn-based strategy game: a new narrative DLC in Q4 2026, then another playable faction in Q2 2027.

That story expansion would be the first campaign-focused release since Deeds of the Fallen. Slitherine still hasn’t said what the plot will cover, and if you’ve seen people guessing that it might connect to the recently added Ultramarines, that’s still just fan speculation.

The next faction is staying under wraps for now too. Still, the fact that it already has a spot on the roadmap makes it pretty clear Slitherine thinks Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector has room to keep growing, even years after launch.

The roster has already gotten bigger through DLC. Black Legion added 15 Chaos Space Marine units, and Ultramarines brought in 18 more, including Hellblasters and a Redemptor Dreadnought. Free updates like Daemonic Incursion and Planetary Supremacy have helped keep the game active too, even as fans continue pushing for more Xenos armies.
