Good news for fans of Kimetsu no Yaiba. SEGA announced this morning that Guardians of the Night: The Chronicles of Hinokami 2 will hit stores during the upcoming 2025. Neither day nor month has been specified, but it will be during the next term when it arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Developed by CyberConnect2, this new video game continues the story from the first installment, The Hinokami Chronicles. The title managed to sell more than 4 million copies worldwide, a figure that speaks for itself about the importance achieved.
This new installment will feature the classic story mode, which starts right where the first part left off. Once again in the shoes of Tanjiro Kamado, players will be able to relive different arcs, such as the Entertainment District, the Swordsmith Village, and the Pillar Training.
Of course, the VS mode will also be available for battles between different characters. For now, the studio has announced that there will be more than 40 selectable fighters, with all those from the first game available from the start. Yes, all of them, this includes the demons added through free updates after the launch, the characters from the Entertainment District arc of the first paid DLC, and even Hashira 9, the highest rank within the demon slayers.
The development team wants everything that appeared in the first game to be the starting point for this second installment. Thanks to this, everything new will be a true “novelty,” not just a simple addition of something already existing (very common in fighting games).
