We already have a release date for the new Dragon’s Age

We live from leak to leak. It is already an inevitable fact, it seems. It shouldn’t surprise us either in a world with so many intermediaries, platforms, and such huge companies. There are too many holes for it not to happen. But we’re not going to complain too much. Not when that has allowed us to know, a few hours earlier, when the next Dragon Age is going to be released.

Because we already have a release date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. According to what we have been able to find out thanks to the leak of a video announcement, the game will be released on October 31st. This announcement also confirms that the game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, confirming the platforms that EA had previously mentioned.

These are great news for Dragon Age fans, as it is the first game in the franchise in a decade. The previous one was Dragon Age: Inquisition, which dates back to November 2014, with absolutely nothing from the IP until this The Veilguard. It is also an important game for its developers, Bioware, as they come from two notorious failures such as Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem, which need this Dragon Age to be a success.

From what we have seen of the game, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will remain as focused on story and characters as previous installments. What does seem to have changed is the combat. More focused on Action RPG, with an agility that brings it closer to Hack’n’Slash, the game seems somewhat closer to the trendy Souls, although much lighter and accessible.

While it is still to be seen what the final outcome is, what we have been able to see of the game so far gives us hope about the final result. These ten years of waiting seem to result in a game that knows how to respect the essence of the classics, but brought to a more current context. Which is exactly what this franchise needs. Although to experience it firsthand, we will still have to wait until October 31st.
