Today the gaming world smiles. Today we players can say that we have won. Why? Because after 14 years of asking Rockstar to officially release Red Dead Redemption on PC, they have done it. Without much fanfare, but they have done it. After months of rumors and rumors.
The announcement has been made through their website in the most normal and simple way possible, but it has brought immense joy to PC players. In my case, having played it 10 years ago on Xbox 360, I received the news with claps and joy.
For the first time in history, the beloved journey of John Marston can be enjoyed on PC like we never could on a console (although the port on Xbox One is almost perfect).
Launch on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Rockstar Store on October 29
Red Dead Redemption and its iconic horror and zombie story, Undead Nightmare, will arrive on PC on October 29.
In collaboration with Double Eleven, this new version adds specific improvements for PC, such as native 4K resolution up to 144 Hz on compatible hardware, support for Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) monitors, HDR10 compatibility, and full keyboard and mouse functionality.
It is also compatible with NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 scaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and much more.
Take a look at the new trailer and stay tuned for more details, including information later this week on how to pre-order Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare on Rockstar Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store. Although the console version is priced at $59.99 officially, so we can get an idea.
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are also currently available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox.
