We now know how long the exclusivity of Silent Hill 2 Remake will last on PlayStation 5

According to Eurogamer, the highly anticipated Bloober Team remake of Konami’s 2001 classic will be released on October 8, 2024. While it was known that Silent Hill 2 would be a PS5 exclusive, it was not clear whether it would be permanent or not.

At least until now, thanks to the “Immersion” trailer of Silent Hill 2 that has appeared on the official PlayStation channel on YouTube. The one-minute trailer showcases some of the impressive environments and features of Silent Hill 2, such as 4K visual effects and immersive haptic feedback through the DualSense wireless controller.

There will also be support for PlayStation’s 3D audio and the implementation of a dynamic light bar that tracks the protagonist James Sunderland’s health with a color-coded system.

Silent Hill 2 will arrive on Xbox a year later than on PS5

However, the PlayStation 5 home screen at the end of the trailer reveals that Silent Hill 2 will not be “available in other formats until 10.08.2025”. That is, October 8, 2025, exactly one year after the game’s release.

Although Silent Hill 2 will be available on PC from day one, this means it will not arrive on Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S (or even Nintendo Switch 2) at least until the end of 2025.

And even so, we recommend that you try the game on PS5 if you can, to make the most of the DualSense features, such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
