When is Pluribus coming back to Apple TV+? Vince Gilligan reveals how season 2 is progressing

After becoming one of Apple TV‘s big hits, Pluribus is still gearing up for its second season. The wait is getting a little long, but in June we learned that the writers were already more than halfway through the process, and now Vince Gilligan confirms some very good news: season 2 is ready to start filming, if it hasn’t already.

During a short interview on Crew Call, Deadline’s podcast, Gilligan said that the team had just finished breaking the season and that they were ready to start shooting “in a month, in a couple of months”. The exact date remains up in the air, since we don’t know exactly when this episode was recorded, but the timeline points to this fall and gives us a slight idea of when we might see the official premiere.

The first season arrived in November 2025 with a distinctive science-fiction premise and ended up leaving us with many more questions than answers.

When Gilligan is asked on the podcast about the possibility of a release at the end of 2027, Gilligan joked that it would arrive “at some point in the 21st century”. Jokes aside, factoring in several months of shooting and the necessary post-production afterward, late 2027 makes sense as a release window. November would, in fact, mirror the first season’s schedule.

Gilligan is looking at three seasons, maybe four, as far as we know. Breaking Bad, in fact, ended up running much longer than initially planned, which leaves room for Apple TV’s new hit to do something similar.
