But who is Marshmello really? Hidden behind a mask that reserves his appearance, as if it were Daft Punk, the Philadelphia singer has an interesting career that is exploding in this 2023. So let’s take a look at his greatest hits.

An enviable track record behind the mask

Marshmello is an electronic music artist who has achieved worldwide fame thanks to his musical style that mixes trap, future bass and pop. With a sound that seems to come from the future, he has captivated millions of fans around the world. However, his real identity remains a mystery, as he always appears in public with a marshmallow mask on his head, which helps to enhance his mysterious image.

Marshmello’s career began in 2015, when he released his first single WaVeZ on SoundCloud. Soon after, he caught the attention of major labels such as Monstercat and OWSLA, which allowed him to release several singles and collaborations with renowned artists such as Jauz and Slushii.

In 2016, Marshmello released one of his most successful singles, Alone, which quickly became an anthem for electronic music lovers. The song reached number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 and its music video has over a billion plays on YouTube.

The success of Alone boosted the career of Marshmello, who in the same year released his first EP Joytime. The EP included songs like Keep It Mello and Summer, which became big hits in the electronic music charts. In addition, Marshmello began performing live at festivals and events around the world, always wearing his iconic marshmallow mask.

In 2017, Marshmello collaborated with British singer Anne-Marie on the single Friends. The song was another huge hit for the artist, peaking at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 in the UK. Also, Marshmello released his second EP Joytime II, which included songs like Stars and Rooftops.

In the following years, Marshmello continued to release hits such as Happier, a collaboration with pop group Bastille, which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in the UK. In addition, Marshmello has collaborated with other well-known artists such as Selena Gomez, Khalid and Halsey.

In 2019, Marshmello released his third EP Joytime III, with timeless tracks such as Rescue Me and One Thing Right, a collaboration with country singer Kane Brown. That same year, Marshmello made history by becoming the first artist to perform live inside the Fortnite video game. His in-game virtual concert was watched by more than 10 million people worldwide.

Finally, in 2020 the artist collaborated with rapper Roddy Ricch on the song Project Dreams and released the single Be Kind, a huge hit on YouTube, featuring singer Halsey.

In 2021, Marhsmello put Joytime aside to release Shockwave, one last album in which he has finished strengthening himself and which has helped him gain a foothold in the industry, which he is now taking advantage of with dozens of collaborations with artists, especially Latinos.

Thanks to his iconic looks and his skill as a producer and musician, Marshmello is carving out a very interesting niche in an industry that seemed to have lost any hint of originality. Marshmello is a breath of fresh air in the music industry.
