While waiting for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, we know that the next operating system for the iPhone, iOS 18, will be one of the biggest updates in iPhone history. In this context, many of us wonder, will my iPhone be compatible with iOS 18? There is nothing confirmed officially, but the first rumors and leaks have already spoken.

List of devices compatible with iOS 18

As reported by MacRumors, a private account from X initially shared the list of compatible devices, although that post was quickly deleted. The leak, coming from a source with a proven track record in leaks, although we should always take this information with some caution.

On the iPhone, iOS 18 will be compatible with the first and second generation iPhone SE, iPhone XR, iPhone XS and XS Max, and all subsequent iPhone models, including all iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 models.

For the iPad, the landscape changes significantly, as according to the leak, iPadOS 18 would stop supporting older models such as the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, both released in 2017 and equipped with the A10X Fusion processor. This would indicate that devices like the iPad 6 and iPad 7, which use the A10 processor, would also be excluded from the compatibility list.

Thus, the iPads compatible with iPadOS 18 would be the 2020 and later iPads, the 2019 and later iPad minis, the 2019 and later iPad Airs, and the 2018 and later iPad Pros.

As always, it is prudent to take these rumors with caution. The original source has deleted the post, which could suggest doubts about the accuracy of the information. The official confirmation of compatibility will take place in June, during the opening keynote of WWDC24. In the meantime, it is best, although with an approximate idea of compatibility, to wait for Apple to speak out.
