In an Instagram post, he shared concept art from 2003, which reflects the evolution of the game’s narrative since its beginnings, where the central theme of an adult protecting a child in a devastated world has remained constant.

However, Druckmann also expressed his uncertainty, suggesting that this chapter in the saga may be nearing its end. “Don’t bet on there being more of The Last of Us. This could be the end,” he stated.

As the HBO series continues its journey, many fans cling to the hope of a possible return of the franchise in video game format. With the plot of the second season focused on the second half of the game released in 2020, there is a risk that the production may run out of original material or decide to halt while waiting for new installments.
