After 3 years, the community-made Just Cause 2 Multiplayer mod was finally released in December 2013, and now a world building mod has been added to one of the servers. This means players can now construct their own Just Cause 2 worlds for multiplayer mayhem.
To use the Just Cause 2 multiplayer world building mod, you need a copy of the game on PC, Steam and the multiplayer mod. Then head over to the creator Jman100’s site, and join his server. There you’ll be able to use the world builder and start creating ‘anything from houses, to small towns, to whatever you can think of.’
Check out the video below to see how the world builder works.
Just Cause 2 is an excellent sandbox adventure, with really over the top action and an enormous island to explore. While it was widely praised back in 2010, it was missing multiplayer, which was a shame. GTA IV’s free mode had shown player how much fun could be had in an open world with lots of vehicles and explosives, and Just Cause 2’s much bigger world and amazing weapons drove some people to bring a multiplayer mode to the game themselves.
The multiplayer mod is certainly hectic: if you’re looking for multiplayer chaos, there’s pretty much nothing like Just Cause 2 on PC. Hopefully this new world building mod will mean lots of user created content will be available for the community to play with too.
