Wargaming has released a new version of its famous tank combat game, World of Tanks: Heat, which is currently in closed beta. This spin-off, which incorporates elements of hero shooters, promises to offer a faster and more dynamic experience compared to the original title, with 5v5 matches that last less time and require a strategic focus on player positioning.
Tanks with their own abilities
Set in an alternative world after World War II, where scientific advancements and global cooperation transform the landscape, Heat allows players to upgrade their tanks and equip modifiers. Although the progression system and monetization have raised concerns among players, the gameplay maintains a fantastic and humorous tone that strays from the traditional World of Tanks simulator.
The matches in Heat are shorter and designed to be intense. In a mode similar to “Kill Confirmed” from Call of Duty, players experience quick confrontations where lineup and tactics are crucial. Unlike its predecessor, which was characterized by long distances and methodical gameplay, Heat offers a fast pace with the possibility of performing spectacular maneuvers, such as flanking enemies from an aircraft carrier. On the other hand, the damage mechanics are precisely modeled, allowing for critical hits that can change the course of the battle.
Interested parties still have the opportunity to register for the closed beta, which will be available for a few more days. The initial response from the public has been positive, although players continue to observe how the monetization system will develop and whether it will translate into an advantage for those who opt for spending, something that is always a topic of debate in the realm of free-to-play games.
