There’s no doubt that one of Microsoft‘s big incentives is its Microsoft Rewards program. The tech giant has been offering a series of points for quite a few years whenever you use one of its products. For instance, you can earn points by using Edge, browsing with Bing, or playing games on Xbox. Later on, these points can be redeemed for various products or services within the Microsoft store.

So far, all pretty normal and well-known. However, the well-known user Idle Sloth has posted on Twitter some news that has surprised many: the Xbox Rewards app has been removed from the store. Does this mean it’s gone forever? No, don’t worry, here comes the good news: it’s simply being replaced by a new one called Rewards Hub.

We have recreated, simplified, and integrated the Rewards experience on Xbox, centering it around gaming and activities that players love,” reads the published statement.

“With the new Xbox Rewards center, players will no longer have separate apps to earn or redeem reward points. Starting December 2023, no more offers will be published in the Microsoft Rewards app, and we will focus on new activities in the new Rewards center,” adding a launch date for the new system.

Microsoft clarifies in the text that Xbox rewards “continue to be part of the Microsoft Rewards program,” meaning that even with a new app, everything remains the same regarding earning points.

As a curiosity, some users noticed that just a few days ago, Xbox lowered the number of points obtained from certain actions in the app.

Who knows if this is also part of that restructuring that is taking place.
