You’ll never guess which film director is a fan of Call of Duty (but hates playing with a controller)

Since 2015, coinciding with the release of Black Ops III, the Hollywood world has been revolving around a possible adaptation of Call of Duty. Several directors and actors have been involved, and even the screenwriter for the sequel was announced… but the movie has yet to start filming. Its director, Stefano Solima, has mentioned on more than one occasion that this adaptation is not a priority for Activision, something that could change if a well-known fan of the franchise came into play: none other than Steven Spielberg.

Max Spielberg, the son of the director who wanted to follow in his footsteps but ended up becoming a video game designer for titles like Battlefield, has pointed out that his father plays all the Call Of Duty games, but never with a controller, only with a mouse and keyboard. Moreover, he claims that it is impossible to find him in online mode because he only plays the campaign. And, apparently, even if you think he spends his days watching Criterion-edited movies in his private cinema, that’s not the only thing he plays.

“He loves to play. He was the one who got me into it. He is a great PC gamer and it’s our way of connecting. He asks me ‘Hey, what’s good now? Are there any new shooters? Which Call of Duty should I play?'” Max Spielberg highlights that his father asks him for a list of shooters, and when he comes home, they play together.
