Zack Snyder silences the rumors of having personal issues with James Gunn

Zack Snyder has defended his fandom from the toxic label, challenging those who consider that the interactions on social media between his supporters and critics are problematic.

In a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Snyder expressed his frustration towards these judgments and, emphatically, urged those with negative opinions about his fanbase to take notice.

A good relationship between both

Despite this defense, the director has also shown a more conciliatory attitude towards James Gunn, the new leader of the DC franchise. Snyder, who directed Man of Steel in 2013 and has a long history with the DCEU, praised Gunn’s vision and narrative in the new cinematic universe, alluding to his ability to tell stories and set the right tone.

This gesture of admiration suggests a change in the relationship between the two filmmakers, who previously had a rivalry fueled by their respective fandoms.

Both directors previously collaborated on Dawn of the Dead (2004), which adds a personal background to their current interaction. The transition from Snyder’s style to Gunn’s approach has been the subject of analysis, acknowledging that his trilogy is now part of the past, while Gunn’s new projects represent a reboot in superhero storytelling.

Although Snyder seeks to distance himself from the perception of toxicity in his fanbase, it is interesting to note that previously, his fandom has played a crucial role in creating tensions between him and Gunn on social media. However, their mutual praise opens the door to a new era of collaboration and camaraderie in the film industry, which is well received by fans.
