Add new functionality to your iPod

iPods are excellent MP3 players, but now with iGadget you can make them even more useful.

iGadget is an iPod manager that lets you transfer songs, videos and playlists from the iPod to your computer or to iTunes, something not supported by iTunes itself. The transfer tool also saves play counts, ratings, volume adjustment and all other details. Plus you can create lists with the contents of your iPod in several formats (HTML, CSV, plain text).

But that's not all. iGadget also lets you add special plugins to your iPod, with which you can get driving directions, movie showtimes, daily horoscopes, weather forecasts and more. All you need to do is go to the File > Select Plugins menu and select the ones you're interested in.

iGadget features a nice, clearly designed interface and is pretty straightforward to use. The only – and big – drawback to it is that only the Music transfer, Playlist transfer and Music listing functions are available to use with the iPhone and iPod Touch.

With iGadget you can turn your iPod into something more than just a simple MP3 player.
