Softonic review

Fast-paced and exciting first-person racing simulator

RTL Racing Team Manager is a first-person racing platform which enables players to create and manage their own teams while competing against other virtual opponents. So, this platform is just as much associated with strategy as it involves white-knuckle racing skills. Other realistic features include assembling a vehicle, acquiring upgrades, purchasing new products and securing sponsors.

General Overview and Gameplay

This game was first released back in 2001 and it was part of the massively popular Formula One genre which existed at the time. As mentioned above, players will have to select from a number of fictitious racers to assemble their final team. Each is associated with his share of strengths and weaknesses, so all choices should be made carefully. The controls are easy to manipulate and basic keyboard inputs are generally sufficient. However, some third-party joysticks may be compatible with RTL Racing Team Manager. Another built-in feature of this game is that experts voices will chime in on occasion and offer advice during races. This could serve to add an additional sense of realism.

Other Features

RTL Racing Team Manager was originally released in 2001 and some features reflect its age. The layout of the tracks is rather basic and some levels can appear repetitive. Still, this platform could be a great option for anyone who is a die-hard F1 fan.

PROS

  • Mangers can select from a number of teams
  • The graphics and action are both impressive

CONS

  • It is not possible to access real racers
  • The audio effects are rather poor
