    DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that programming dates all the way back to 60 A.D.? It was a long time ago when Heron of Alexandria lived. This guy was a mathematician and engineer who invented the machine that many consider sparked the evolution of computer programming. His machine had puppets on it, and underneath the machine were strings that you could pull to make the puppets do things. Re-wiring or re-programming of the machine was the key to manipulate the puppets. It was one of the first recorded examples where one did program the way something is operated without having to rebuild it totally. The 1950s was really when computer programming started to take off. With the creation of the first programming language by IBM, the landscape of technology would forever change.

Today, there is so much hype about programming. Needless to say, people seem to be learning about the best programming resources. There are even Java apps for beginners that make learning accessible even from smartphones. This is not a surprise as there is an increasing number of businesses relying on computer code. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment specifically for computer programmers will increase steadily as businesses outsource projects tend to look for less expensive contract workers overseas. Programming jobs overall are growing 12% faster than the market average. The numbers prove that all technology, no matter how complicated it may look, did start from the simplest of things.
