DID YOU KNOW?
Just when Marvel thought Avengers: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover in the history, Marvel seemed to forget that they’ve had a bigger one—the Amalgam Comics! Did you know that in 1996, Marvel and DC comics amalgamated their two universes together paving the way for the birth of Amalgam Comics? Prior the publishing of Amalgam Comics, at some point in the history of comics, both parties were interested in adapting the Wizard of Oz movie into a comic book. Actually, Marvel was planning to do one, but DC had the rights over the adaptation, so they eventually thought producing two Wizard of Oz comics would be useless—this was the first time these two comics giants worked together. The joint project gave birth to new superheroes such as Darkclaw (the combination of Batman and Wolverine), Super Soldier (Superman and Captain America), and Iron Lantern (Green Lantern and Iron Man) to name a few.
Interestingly, it is noteworthy to mention the existence of the character named Access. He is a superhero who has the ability to create inter-dimensional gateways between the two universes—Marvel and DC—and he maintains the order sensing whatever is wrong with the two and travels through time and space within the same multiverse! Ultimately, he was coined as the keeper of Amalgam Universe.
