This is by far the best close to real life combat aircraft sim for me. I could really feel myselfbeing situated in the cockptit while playing this game. Graphics are engaging, controls are a struggle and involves fast decisionmaking to keep your plan on flight. Good game! More

I needed the best flight simulator games for xbox 360 that are out there. I fround IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. I started out great, but it has now shown its poor design aspects and I don't feel like finishing the game anymore. More

This flight sim is awesome. I can fight epic battles with my choice of 42 authentic WWII aircraft. I love fighting the Red Baron and winning!

This is not a flight simulator. It's a war video game. There are great flight simulator games out there.

This is one of the best flight simulatiors for the xbox 360 hands down! Not arcade oriented at all, it gives you the REAL experience of flying, at least as much as you can get sitting on your couch. The detail in the maps is amazing and the combat is really fun. Multiplayer is the best! More

I went looking for a flight simulator game to play on my Xbox 360, and stumbled on Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. The game gets mixed reviews, mostly from users who say that Assault Horizon is not nearly as good as previous Ace Combat games. I have no basis for comparison, and have to say that I'm pretty impressed by the flight simulation and the range of aircraft you can fly. More

Amazing game, I will give it 5 out of 5 stars. This game was a slight shift from the usual combat games. It helped me widen my imagination and explore several possibilities. Highly recommend this game for college students. Perfect for a weekend or bad weather day when you're stuck indoors. More

Well, as far as realistic flight sims go, i can probably find better if you're serious about it. This one doesn't have a rudder and pedal hookup available, taking away from some of the realism. However, it does have a pretty realistic flight sim mode. This features many different planes from WWII era and has many different types to choose from. I was fighting my way through terror filled skies many times with many planes. All in all, i found enjoyment in this flight sim and it satisfied my needs. More

I do not recommend BIrds of Steel as a flight simulator for Xbox 360. It simply isn't realistic enough. There are other games that fulfill the role better. I would go with one of them. More

Birds of Steel is a fun game, but it's not the best flight sim for Xbox 360 by any means. It's more of an arcade game that lacks any realism in regards to physics and modeling real world aircraft. More

WHAT'S THE MEANING?

Microsoft's gaming consoles are called Xbox, as a shortened term for DirectXbox, based on the names of the console's four developers: Otto Berkes, Kevin Bachus, Seamus Blackley, Ted Hase, all members of Microsoft's DirectX team.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the first Xbox was made from the pieces of a few disassembled Dell laptops? It was reported that Microsoft wanted to create a competitive, affordable, and powerful gaming console that can compete with Sony's upcoming PlayStation 2, so a team of engineers from their DirectX department got together to hatch plans for the gaming equipment they wanted to call the DirectXbox. The team disassembled a few Dell laptops and used the hardware for making the prototype console, which passed the engineering team and went into development, though the name was shortened to Xbox.

Another interesting fact is that the high-ranking officials and the marketing team of Microsoft did not like the name of the Xbox and presented many alternatives, including the Microsoft Action Experience (MAX), Microsoft Action Reality Center (MARC), and Microsoft Play and Action Center (M-PAC). But after a survey of potential clients, it turned out Xbox was the preferred name for the console and it became its official name.
