This game is the perfect example of a classic JRPG through and through. It was developed by the same people who made Final Fantasy so it's no surprise that it features much of the same gameplay mechanics. It's a great game in its own right and definitely deserves to be played. More
by Tyler Garcia
I have always loved RPGs in the same vein as the Final Fantasy series. Additionally, having such games in a portable format is the best because I can take these epic, well-storied games on-the-go. It's like carrying a good book around with me. Bravely Default is an amazing new RPG for the Nintendo 3DS from Square-Enix that has beautiful backgrounds, interesting characters, and an immersive story. I have already played dozens of hours of this game on my 3DS on my lunch breaks at work, and I have barely scratched the surface. I highly recommend this game! More

This game is awesome! I played this since it's available in Nintendo 3DS and I'm impressed with the story of this game!
by Raymond Gray
RPG games on 3DS are difficult to come by. I was skeptical, but gave this one a shot. Great choice as the quest and adventure, along with graphics, are second to none. More
by Bruce Hall
This game is the best JRPG i've played in quite some time. The battle system is interesting and the characters are great. Also, the game is long so you get lots of bang for your buck. More

This is probably the easiest and most accessible game to recommend to anyone new to the Fire Emblem franchise while still retaining the complexity of gameplay that these games have been known for in the past. This is one of the best 3DS RPG game that all owners should try. More

I always loved playing RPGs, but handheld gaming and RPGs never really made a connection in my mind. You could say Fire Emblem Awakening was my awakening! It's everything I'm used to in a PC RPG, with an epic story and and army of my own to build and strategize, but it's made for 3DS and it works wonderfully. I can't wait to play more! More
by Larry Elliott
Played this with my cousins last night and we can't stop playing it! I like how the game gives power to the player to destroy empires and fight a dragon. More

This is game is not an easy game and takes a while to really get the hang of it. Once, you do though, you sink in hours and hours into its addictive gameplay. It's no Monster Hunter World but it's the next best thing and one of the best 3DS RPG games that you can play right now. More
by Phillip Webb
As a long-time RPG player I'm always on the lookout for something new. This game offers a lot of fun and exciting gameplay. The one area where it falls a little short of the best RPG's out there is depth. It's not much more than Pokemon on steroids. But that's not necessarily a bad thing if you're just looking for some quick action. More

As a big fan of the Persona games which serves as this series' successor, I have nothing but admiration for these games. They are some of the best RPG games that I have ever played and will continue to play on my 3DS. More

In Shin Megami Tensei IV is a very enjoyable RPG game with demons and lots of action. I was a little disappointed though in the storyline which is not as compelling as it could be. In Shin Megami Tensei IV does try to compensate for this in part by offering fast paced action during the demon fusions and negotiations bits, I really like the use of Apps which adds an intriguing layer to the game and makes it possible to get more skills, gain more experience from fusions, and to shake demons down for cash. There are better games out there like Dragon Quest and Pokemon but I thin this one is still fun to play and it has good potential. More

When you're looking for Nintendo 3DS RPG games, you never think you'll find something in-depth or on the grand scale of a game you'd find on a console or PC, but Fantasy Life comes pretty darn close. The demo video would have you believe that the graphics are beautiful, but don't fall for it - come on, it's a 3DS so you know it's going to look 'meh' at best, but the game mechanics allowing you to switch classes anytime you feel like it kinda make up for that! It's definitely worth a try, I think. More

This game is a lot of fun on my Nentendo 3DS. I like that I can actually feed and play with my pokemon and the interaction is great. This is based on older games and says that it's been updated, but it doesn't look very up to date. I want designers to quit going with cheap easy graphics. Especially in this day and age where good graphics are not hard to come by.

If you've played the other Dragon Ball video games you know you are in for a treat when a new one comes out. This game has a great backstory and the game play starts simple, but gets more advanced as you progress. It works really well with the 3ds system and is very enjoyable. I was also surprised how much I am enjoying a second play through, making different decisions and trying different characters. More

Dragon Ball Fusions is a fun RPG game. I wouldn't say it is the best, as it is a little generic. It copies a lot of other RPGs. Not much new here, but it is decent. More
