DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the popular, open-world survival game DayZ is actually a standalone successor of a mod for the tactical shooter ARMA 2? The mod’s rise in popularity followed by the development of its standalone game paved the way for the survival genre that many gamers enjoy. Other games of the same genre pit players in an open world where they have to battle not only aggressive enemies, but also unforgiving game factors that’ll force them to venture out into dangerous situations to avoid succumbing to hunger, weariness, and sickness. Set in a hostile environment where they usually start out with little to no resources, players have to gather resources and materials, craft tools and weapons, and construct sturdy shelters to avoid the hostile elements like rain and heat.

That being said, some gamers prefer to brave these dangers with their friends by their side, thus making surviving a tad bit easier. With plenty of survival games to try out from that offers cooperative gameplay, players have a wide range of choices in experiencing new features, as different survival games offer varying themes. From post-apocalyptic settings to worlds set during the prehistoric era, the everyday gamer’s possibilities are endless.
