The game seems to complain about missing files upon start up. I googled the error and found a fix which worked for me.

Open TTD is quite an interesting game. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did but I think it is honestly one of the best train simulator games that i have played. It may be simple but it sure was a really fun a memorable game for me!

I'm always on the lookout for Train games for my computer, and this one hit my radar recently. I've played Microsoft Flight Simulator before and was very pleased with that way back in the day. This title doesn't disappoint in the same way. There are many options with old and new trains and this would be great for any fan of trains. More
by Debra Ryan
Microsoft Train Simulator is what it says on the box really. I didn't really enjoy the game, but it is a train simulator for the PC so it has that going for it I suppose. More

My kid loves trains, and I wanted to find a game for us to play together. My kid loves this game and it has stuff for adults too, so I can stay entertained. More

Train Sim is a pretty straightforward game. You simulate running trains, but what I like most about it is that you can actually feel as if you're driving the actual train by switching the camera angles. I like that I can get it both on my pc and mobile phone. That's really cool if you're a train junkie like me!!

If trains are your jam, then this is the game for you. It has an awesome control system that makes it really easy to use, and it is really easy to learn how to play as well. As another commenter said, the mod abilities incorporated here made it extra great and fun!

If you love trains this is the PC game for you. A very addictive train sim game. The game play is good, but the mod abilities in this game take it over the top. More

Train fever has been my favorite train simulator for a while. It doesn't have as many selections as others but I think the game is a lot funner.
by Hannah Howell
Train fever is very well thought out for a Tycoon type game. I can get lost playing this for hours. The graphics have been done well and its constantly being updated. I invited some friends over to play this game and they have enjoyed playing it as well. More

I was looking for a train-related game I could play on PC, and found this. It's on Steam, which I love, and it's about making subway maps. It's not EXACTLY trains, but it's close enough. More
by Scott Delgado
This may work for some people that need a train game but this isn't exactly about trains. This game is about subway management so if that is close enough for what you want you should look into it. More

Trainz Simulator 12 is a great game about trains
by Donna Nichols
IT seems to have excellent graphics, and lots of realism which are things that you look for in a simulator. I am unsure whether it is fun .
by Carlos Alberto Balderas
This is a great game, but it's not a PC game. So if you're looking for a great train related game for your personal computer, I'd probably go try to find something else instead of this board game. More

Ticket to Ride is a train board game. It's a fine game it just doesn't fit the topic of "Best Train PC Games." If they ever get around to developing a PC version, it'll be great. More

I was hoping that Bounty Train would spark my love for US history. I am dissapointed to say that it has failed to do so with me. It has been interesting learning how to play the game and the graphics are decent but it is not very entertaining and user friendly. Bounty Train may not be a total waste of time but I recommend that if you are interested, check it out. More

I am a little hesitant, because the reviews are "mostly" positive, but I will definitely give it a try! Thank you for your help since I have been looking for such a game in a long time! :D More

Bounty Train is a fun period game from the late 19th century. The simulation is very monotonous, graphics are okay, game gets boring quick.
by Debra Hart
Best game around, very user friendly and fun. Keeps my interest for hours without realizing it.
by Ashley Hoffman
This is one of the better train games out there, there is variety, excitement and a good lot of imagination. Its no surprise that this game has won a few awards. The price is great, graphics is beautiful and gameplay is supported in 12 different languages. The game has 4 seasons that explore different ages in the history of travel in different continents and its puzzle like quality lends a certain feeling of exercising your mental muscles, so its not just another game to pass time with. Requirements are pretty decent and the game runs on most regular computers. All said, its great fun for great value and a solid gaming experience. More

Great game, makes me feel as if I'm actually managing the construction of the railway! The scenery in the different countries and in the different periods makes this game stand out from the rest! More

The graphics are really nice, and interesting. I find the style pleasing to my tastes. I also find the gameplay fun and interesting. It also has many positive reviews, and others enjoy it! More

If you like trains and you like games, Sid Meier's Railroads is one of the very first games that you will probably play. It is so popular with train game enthusiasts that practically everyone knows about this. It is a really good mix of a sim and strategy game which really lets you enjoy the awesomeness of trains.

Sid Meier's Railroads! Is one of the best train simulation/strategy games out there. You've probably heard the name Sig Meier's before they make incredible games and this one is no different. If you enjoy trains and have enjoyed say the tycoon games in the past then you will enjoy this one. More

Have you been sitting there, playing Euro Trucker, and said to yourself "Self, I enjoy this mindless task game, but wish it had even FEWER things I could control. Like maybe the trucks could stay on a track and then only go forward and backward!" Then this game is for you! In the same vein as the other "menial task emulator"s, this one is about trains. Exactly what it says on the tin. Enjoy. More

Railroad Tycoon 3 - it says it all in the name. It's a game that lets you basically build a railroad tycoon to enjoy for yourself. What I like most about this is that the graphics are pretty solid, although a bit more for younger gamers, i suppose. I do enjoy it but one thing I would like is to see more gritty, steampunk kind of graphics. Otherwise, no complaints for me!

i've played this and the rollercoaster version. pretty fun to kill time.

This is a good return, but it is a very narrow solution to my question to find PC games that are train themed. Railroad Tycoon 3 is about railroads, just like I asked. However, it is only one of many railroad PC game choices, and I would have preferred to get a result that had a listing, maybe reviews, of several competing PC train games. More

This is a fun and charming train game. The graphics are not that outstanding but the wide array of weapons and immersive action makes up for it. My kids especially enjoy playing it and laugh a lot while playing. But I found that for an adult such as myself I could beat the game in less than 10 hours so it's not a long lasting enjoyment. A solid train game nevertheless! More
by Vibhore Pillai
This is definitely an odd train game. If you're looking for a traditional train simulator or a management game, this isn't it. This is more of a shooter than anything else. More
