    DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that 42 percent of gamers prefer the smartphone as their gaming device of choice? This figure is based on a poll from the U.K.-based mobile strategy agency Tappable. A lot of people can say that mobile gaming has indeed taken over the reins from consoles and this is proof. The company believes that a lot of this is because of convenience. The Nintendo Switch is proof of it. The console and mobile hybrid have become a huge gaming platform. The Switch earned a staggering $5.1 billion in 2018, its highest profit since 2009. Though not really a pure mobile device, one can understand how convenience plays a role in choosing it as a device.

30 years ago when all games were in 2D with no exquisite storylines, gaming was a lot different. Fans had to play the best arcade titles that either lasts 10 minutes or longer depending on a player's progress. The pace and technology that these games had offered a challenge to most. While they were recreational, it also took patience to enjoy it. One couldn't complain it was boring to replay from the start because it was the only experience you had. Nothing more could come out from the game. Today, just like how a lot of people prefer mobile games with fast gameplay, titles have been more and more complex. With creative storylines and challenging levels, games have also been more fast-paced. To some, this may indicate the end of gaming consoles. However, hardcore gamers who prefer having joysticks on their hands would surely disagree.
