Did you know that the time it takes to solve a jigsaw puzzle is in proportion to the square of the number of pieces? In essence, doubling the puzzle pieces quadruples the difficulty level of the jigsaw puzzle itself, which means that it will take a person 64 times longer to complete a 4,000-piece puzzle than it will take him to complete a 500-piece puzzle. Also, most puzzle piece counts are not actual, as they are often rounded down to the nearest even number. 1000-piece puzzles usually have 1,026 pieces, while 500-piece puzzles have about 513. 

The jigsaw puzzle with the most pieces ever made had with 551,232 pieces. It took 1600 Vietnamese students 17 hours to complete. Conversely, the smallest jigsaw puzzle in the world is a 4” x 6” puzzle with 234 pieces that need to be picked up with tweezers, as they are so small. It will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete the puzzle, which comes in a variety of designs. On the other hand, the current holder for the Guinness World Record for fastest jigsaw puzzler is Deepika Ravichandran, who was only 15 years old when she finished the 250-piece Hasbro puzzle in 13 minutes and seven seconds, assembling 19 puzzle pieces per minute.
