I was looking for a very good RTS game for my PC and was told to check out Homeworld Remastered Collection. I remember hearing a lot about Homeworld and was very interested. The gameplay was very strategic, which is what I was looking for, and the graphics were really interesting and fun to watch. I really enjoyed this collection and highly recommend it! More
by Jeremy Munoz
A remastered game for PC to go back and fix a few things is really cool and I like that a lot.
by Lori Little
I really would have preferred a list of games. I'll keep searching since this doesn't really cover what I wanted.
by Tiffany Wong
I like this game but it is very similiar to Age of Empires I and II. I wish they would come up with new themes to make this more challenging. It's fun, but don't know if it's worth the money due to the similarity to earlier versions of the game. I hope IV will be better. More
by Megan Lane
Ages of Empires III is an awesome bundle of adventure! The graphics and sound are amazing. You can spend hours crafting and improving your country.

This is an interesting suggestion however, the game is now out of date by 13 years. I highly recommend a more updated game such as Stellaris.
by Lawrence Jensen
Even though it's gotten a bit long in the tooth now, and the graphics aren't stunning by modern standards, the game play holds up. In fact, because it's less demanding, it flies on current systems, and it's still incredibly immersive. More
by Charles Rios
It can be difficult to find modern RTS games, but Northgard did an OK job helping me solve this problem. I liked that it had a someone unconventional but interesting setting and cast of characters compared to most titles in this genre, and that it was deep enough to be replayable but also easy enough to play with almost total newcomers. One issue, though, was, in some ways, it is not strictly an RTS-style game, in the sense of what I really think of when I think of these games, though it is certainly influenced by that genre. More
by María Sandoval
Northgard is a great RTS game for PC. It is fun to play and the strategy of it makes it funner.
by Janet Simmons
Northgard is a compelling real-time strategy based game for PC. I like it because it is entertaining and teaches my kids about Norse mythology, while they like it for gaming with their friends and the Viking clans More
by Ai Long
I like Paradox's RTS games but Hearts of Iron IV definitely gets some mixed feelings from me. On the one hand I find it easier to get into the WWII setting better than the earlier eras in their other games on the other the AI in this game is just dumb. You can easily find yourself fighting a country whose army is diddling around in no mans land (who also just declared war against someone they can't effectively reach) while your allies can barely even bother to marshal any forces to fight with. More
by Jordan Jacobs
Hearts of Iron IV is an interesting RTS game available on Steam. It is a bit pricey for my taste and due to the limited story line and predicted combat I would not recommend this game. There are several better RTS games available at a fraction of the cost. Save your money and play something else. More

Dota 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer online strategic action battle arena game developed and published by Valve in 2013. It has a pool of more than a hundred heroes that all ten players of a match can pick for free.
by Debra Hernandez
While many will argue with me that Dota 2 is actually the best RTS game, I stand my ground that it's not the best. This may have been the best a decade or so ago, but the game has not aged well. There are much better newer games these days. More
by Michelle Robinson
RTS is all I play, and Dota is the game that started them all. I was looking for an RTS I could play on the PC and this is as good as it gets. Can't believe I forgot about it! Perfect solution to my query. More

StarCraft is a real-time strategy multiplayer game for Windows-operated computers. it was created by Chris Metzen and James Phinney and was developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The game was first released in 1998.
by Matthew Collins
This has a so-so feel. I can't really get into the storyline. Plus the graphics look somewhat outdated today. I won't say isn't fun though, since it is, but I just think that there are many other alternatives now for RTS games on the PC. One thing that I do like is the control panel, which is pretty intuitive. More
by Gilberto Alvarado
What can you say about Starcraft that hasn't already been said. It's been a killer title for the better part of two decades and still maintains a very loyal, rather large following. They have to be doing something right. More
by Zachary Fox
I really only PC games and this is one of my favorites. I have to say, this games is too good to be a free game. I cannot stop playing this game.
by Walter Williams null
This is a vintage RTS game that still looks fairly good today. It may have older graphics but all the desirable elements of an RTS game are still there. It requires quick reactions, and keeps the brain active and searching for quick tactical solutions. Starcraft provides enough of an adrenaline rush for most people but is easy to learn and is free of excessive amounts of micro-management. Play vs computer opponents (no internet) or human (Battlenet - online). The game is quick and easy to start and usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes. Excellent value for a free game. More

This has been a classic for the longest. I can't get into the look of it though. I need something that looks more realistic like Total War. It has all the same mechanics, but looks beautiful. More

I was looking for a new RTS game to play for PC but this one didn't quite fit the bill. I hate to say it, but there are far better solutions to this particular problem. This game was OK, but really wasn't anything particularly special. Also, it is almost three years old now. There have been a lot of improvements since then. This one is a bit dated. More

I come from a background of enjoying games like Command and Conquer, and Starcraft. I have played my fair share of RTS games. OpenRA takes the base of those games, and adds it's own unique spin upon the genre. If you have ever played a RTS before, you will pick the game up quickly, and even if you haven't, after a quick tutorial you will have all of the basics down. This is not the polished products like the games mentioned above, but it is a fun little game that will keep you interested for many hours trying to advance to that next level. More

I had fun playing World in Conflict! Have you ever wondered what it would be like if two super powers collided? That's this game. Fast-paced action, lots of choices to command troops, and explosions everywhere. For its time, the graphics are outstanding too. There is nothing more fun than blowing up someone with a tank, and if you like micromanaging troops, this is the game for you. You really get sucked into the campaigns. Ever been blown up with a long-range missile? I have. More

I suffer from the occasional seizure so certain video games turn me into a drooling mess, mostly FPS type games. Halo: Spartan Assault is different, it's a top down view so it doesn't have that effect. Now I can actually play an action game and enjoy it. More

Battlestations: Midway is a real-time tactics video game developed by Eidos Hungary in 2007. This action game was part of Battlestations series and published by Eidos Interactive, Feral Interactive, and Square Enix Co, Ltd.
by Janet Stone
In my opinion Battlestations Midway is the best RTS game out right now and if it's not ranked number one then it should be. This game combines action with strategy and defeat. It's basically a game where you find the most strategic move to take down your enemy and complete tasks that you need to. I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 13 because of maturity issues but it's great. More
