WHAT'S THE MEANING?

ARPANET stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. It was an early prototype of the internet that we all know today.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the internet was the brainchild of two American inventors? Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf created Transmission Control Protocol and the Internet Protocol, also known as TCP/IP. It is a model of communication that set the standards for how data could be sent between various networks. It was the protocol that ARPANET adopted back in 1983, where researchers began to form the "network of networks". Thanks to this innovation, Tim Berners-Lee was able to invent the World Wide Web several years later.

Fast forward to the 21st century, where computers are not the only devices that can connect to the internet. Smartphones, Smart TVs, Smartwatches, you name it, almost everything now is smart. Newer electronic devices nowadays are already internet-ready. But, you cannot make the most of it if we have an unstable network. If using a WiFi analyzer app doesn't help, there also plenty WiFi signal strength apps available. There are also internet speedtest apps and sites like the ones from Ookla and Spectrum that can be used. Just like what the U.S. President Barrack Obama said, "Internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity."
