The production company responsible for The Invitation was done by Gamechanger Films. Gamechanger Films was founded in 2013 by Julie Parker Benello, Dan Cogan, Geralyn Dreyfous, Wendy Ettinger. In an unusual twist from many companies, Gamechanger Films requires that any films they fund are directed or co-directed by a woman. There are no requirements for the genre. There are no requirements on whether the films are focused on any type of female topics. All films are required to be funded on a budget of less than $2 million or less. The funding is raised by Chicken & Egg Pictures, Impact Partners and equity investors. Gamechanger Films operates for profits. Louis has been quoted as saying their goal 'is to finance films that are critically and commercially viable'. Therefore they will not fund films that are considered experimental or non-narrative. In the year 2014, they established a grand for female directors who are to screen their films at South by Southwest in the amount of $2500.
