Ali Shariati is an Iranian writer, philosopher, and social reformer. He was born in 1898 in the city of Qazvin in the northwestern part of Iran. He is one of the most prominent and influential people in the history of Iran. His writings are the main source of information on the history of the Iranian people.
Ali Shariati was born in a family of wealthy merchants. He started his studies in the same city in 1919, and later went on to study in France and Germany. He returned to Iran in 1927 and taught at the University of Tehran. He became well known for his lectures and his writings.
He is the founder of the National Museum of the History of the Iranian People.
