Real Octapad with Real Pads is a music and radio app by SoundsLanka. Like PadPro - Octorpad Dj Mixer for Learn Octapad and Percusión App: Octapad batería, it allows you to produce music by tapping any of the eight pads on the screen. The app boasts customizable pads, an equalizer, and many more. 

It offers free and paywalled percussion and drum samples. However, if you’re completely new to playing an octapad, Real Octapad with Real Pads can be difficult and unintuitive to use. Additionally, its unusable recording, “MUSIC,” and “MOVE PAD” features are its most glaring flaws.

Practice playing the octapad

Featuring eight rubber pads, an octapad is a compact and versatile electronic percussion instrument. So if you want to learn to play this instrument but can’t find one in music stores, then Real Octapad with Real Pads is a blessing. Just like a real octapad, it has eight pads you can tap to produce different sounds, allowing you to compose music or cover a song.

The pads are customizable, enabling you to adjust the volume and pitch according to your preferences. The app also has a “MOVE PAD” feature, however, it does not let you reposition the pads. In fact, there are no on-screen instructions that teach you how to move them. On the other hand, it boasts an equalizer for tweaking the “HIGH PASS,” “LOW PASS,” “STEREO,” and many more.

You can select between various percussion and drum samples, including Dholki, Dholki Molam, and Roll Bongo. However, some samples such as the Indian Hasal and Indian Loops are unlockable if you pay or watch an ad. While the app lets you record your performance using the “REC” button, you can’t stop the recorder and access your recordings. In addition, the “MUSIC” button doesn’t work even when tapped multiple times.

Difficult to use

Anyone can use Real Octapad with Real Pads to hone their musical skills, cover songs, and produce new music. Although the pads’ volume and pitch are adjustable, the pads themselves cannot be repositioned. Some features such as the “REC” and “MOVE PAD” buttons are unusable, which is a huge disappointment. Moreover, if you’re a complete beginner, it can be a challenge to use this app.
