Amazon has taken advantage of the fact that today the Amazon’s Great Spring Sales of 2024 begin to release a very interesting study on consumer habits of customers and consumers in general.
According to the data from the Study “Habits of online shoppers in Spain” conducted by Ipsos Digital for Amazon and presented this Tuesday, 90% of the respondents make online purchases. Of them, 55% make more than 20% of their purchases online. By the way, today is a good time to buy headphones.
Price is the most influential factor when making an online purchase, followed by discounts, delivery speed, and product quality. Additionally, once the purchase is made, what online consumers value the most are free deliveries, fast shipping, and an easy return policy.
For almost 100% of consumers, price is differential
Price is key in the purchasing decision, so much so that for 96% of respondents it is important or very important. By age, the online buyers most concerned about price are those between 50 and 64 years old.
Interestingly, among the younger ones, aged 18 to 24, we find that 47% consider price to be very important, while 14% indicate it is of little or no importance.
Due to price sensitivity, online buyers, in general, compare before purchasing. Thus, 7 out of 10 declare comparing the product with other similar items and other brands, and 65% compare the price of the same product in different stores.
The survey also indicates a change in online shopping habits. 6 out of 10 respondents admit to having changed their buying habits in the last year due to the economic context, implementing “savings” measures.
The most affected categories by these changes in buying behavior are clothing and footwear and technology/electronics, surprisingly the categories of products that are most commonly purchased online.
The youngest, consumers between 18 and 24 years old, are the ones who have changed their habits the most, with 30% stating that they now buy less in general and 22% being more attentive to offers, promotions, and formulas that allow them to save.
In contrast, people over 65 are the ones who least recognize having changed their habits, and 50% believe they have the same buying behaviors as before, although 22% do admit to buying less than before.
If you want to save money for your vacations, from today, March 20th, to Monday, March 25th, you have the Great Spring Sales from Amazon in 2024.
